Club Information
The Mississinewa Valley Obedience Training
Club (MVOTC) was incorporated on September 25th, 1979. It is a non-profit
organization ran by volunteers and was founded by a few purebred dog owners
that wanted to have a place to train their own dogs locally.
We conduct and sponsor obedience training classes in the Grant County
area for all dogs and once a year we sponsor a Fun-Match by AKC rules.
We conduct and sponsor the AKC Canine Good Citizenship evaluation (test) in
the Grant County Area.
We also participate in local community events such as the Fairs, First
Friday’s and Parades. We support our local Humane Society and its
efforts in controlling the overpopulation of our four-legged friends.
We have always believed in the advancement of the purebred dog, but work
towards the advancement of all dogs through obedience training.
Our motto is "We train you to train your dog". We believe that if
every one was a responsible pet owner and trained their dogs that there would
be fewer dogs put up for adoption with the Humane Society or far worse,
discarded.
An obedience trained dog is a true asset to its family and community.
